Noor Jan, 35, lives in Andkhoi with her husband and four children. Noor Jan tragically lost two of her six children – her daughter to a Taliban rocket explosion and her son to an illness that went untreated because of the family’s poverty. After joining ARZU in 2004, Noor Jan can now buy food and necessities for her children and says, “I am looking forward to my children’s education, while they did not have any attention before.”

I have long since had a connection with Hope - a Tribal Heirloom rug and the cornerstone of our rug collection. The pattern dates back to 500B.C. and possesses a history rich with tradition and artistry. I have a Hope rug in my home and, even after all these years, it still reminds me that hope is what guides us all.
